Same Coin, Different Sides

Hope. Frantic. These two words best described me this week. Same coin, different sides. It’s not hard being frantic with all that is happening and changing daily. I felt like I was running around, but not accomplishing much.

I found hope by listening to worship songs, hearing laughter, connecting to my people, playing with the kiddos and being outside. It’s grounding seeing the normalcy of nature. As I walked around the pond and saw these guys, I realized that they’re not freaked out. Matthew 6:26 says: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Then I saw this cute little guy. Matthew 6:28 says: “…See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.” He’s not worried about who sees him or not, he’s just growing and doing his thing.

If God takes care of nature in such a way and we are more valuable to Him…how much more will He care for us?

Corona is not the only thing going on in people’s lives. One friend’s wife is fighting for her life. Another is laid up waiting to meet with the surgeon. My brother-in-law can’t see his cardiologist and is getting critical. Another friend is having surgery to remove cancer. Bills will come. Jobs are in jeopardy. Life doesn’t stop because we are mandated to stay home.

We can freak out, numb out or trust. We need to trust that God means it when He says we are valuable to Him. No matter what we are concerned about we can go to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

How would our responses to life change if we really took those words to heart? Let’s take the next step in working on really trusting our Father’s love for us and believing that He cares for all the big and small things in our life.

I hope you have a great day!

All my love ~ Jodi xoxo
